The River Church is multiracial and cross generational—a family who love God, one another and God’s world.

Where We Came From

Birthed as a “church plant” in 2001 by our mother church, Light & Life Christian Fellowship, North Long Beach.

"The River" (water) speaks of life, refreshment, power, movement. All are characteristic of those who follow Jesus.

“To reach the un-churched, the under-churched and those hurt by religion with God’s love and to help them become devoted followers of Jesus Christ.”

We learn the Bible through what it says, means, and applies to life.

We enjoy the opportunity to “know” and to “be known”.

We match a person’s strengths at an appropriate place of service.

We invite people into know Christ.
